ETAL Teaching School Alliance is committed to ensuring that school-to-school support has demonstrable impact and that support is “done with”, not “done to” the supported school. We broker and co-ordinate school-to-school support across the London Borough of Lewisham and beyond. Our knowledge of our pool of available system leaders both within and outside of our Alliance allows us to ensure that school-to-school support is appropriate and effective.
For supported schools we ensure that the support targets the priority area and has sustainable impact during and beyond the period of support; that the outcomes of the support are measurable, including pupil outcomes and the quality of teaching over time; and that such evidence is shared with the supporting school and ETAL as part of the monitoring and evaluation processes.
For supporting schools we provide high-quality support in line with the agreed arrangements recorded at the start of the commissioning process. We ensure that staff are available to undertake the agreed support with leaders from/at the supported school; support the collation of measurable impact data and evidence; and contribute to the reporting arrangements on conclusion of the support.
We ensure that the best leaders are working to improve the quality of teaching and leadership where it is most needed.
