ETAL is committed to offering an outstanding range of professional learning opportunities, leadership development, school led initial teacher training, school-to-school support and research opportunities.
Teaching Schools and their alliances are at the forefront of the change towards a school-led system. Teaching schools are outstanding schools that work with others to provide high-quality training and development to new and experienced school staff. They are part of the government’s plan to give schools a central role in raising standards by developing a self-improving and sustainable school-led system. ETAL was one of the first 100 schools in the UK to be designated in 2011.
School Direct
The 2021 UCAS Teacher Training application cycle is now open. If you are interested in training to become a primary teacher go to our School Direct page to find out more. ETAL has a range of primary schools in the alliance who are offering School Direct placements. We recommend that you register with Get Into Teaching to receive tailored advice and information about teacher training and help in preparing a strong application to teacher training.
